Claudia Clements

Claudia has over 20 years lighting design experience working at the very forefront of lighting design on a large number of prestigious and very varied projects. She has launched focalglow in 2020 in order to bring this knowledge and experience to smaller scale local projects.

Claudia initially trained as an architect but was drawn to the use of light as a powerful and exciting medium to change people’s perception and shape the way they experience space and architecture. In 1999 she was awarded the MSc. Light and Lighting from The Bartlett School, University College London. Claudia joined Equation Lighting Design where she worked on a number of major exterior and interior lighting projects. These included Upper Ground Urban Regeneration and Harvey Nichols, Oxo Restaurant in London. She joined Speirs + Major in 1998, becoming a Design Associate in 2002. During her time with the company Claudia worked on numerous large and small scale projects. These included; the Millennium Dome, Magna Science Adventure Centre, Thermae Bath Spa, HM Treasury in London, 30 St. Mary Axe (The Gherkin) and Covent Garden Market Buildings.

Claudia has written articles for national and international professional magazines and lectured at the University of Brighton. Claudia lives in Harpenden with her husband, three children and a lively Cockapoo.
